Oy, Soy!

About 6 weeks ago, Max broke out with some hives and we ended up going to an Allergist last week. They did the scratch test on him, and he reacted to quite a few things, but significantly to milk, soy, and tree nuts (almonds, walnuts ,and cashews). However, just because he reacted to these things in his scratch test, it doesn't mean that any of these things actually caused his hives, so we have eliminate these things for 2 weeks and then introduce them 1 at a time to see if he reacts. Monday will be 2 weeks. It's been a long of 2 weeks for us. Have you ever really read the labels of what's in EVERYTHING that you buy? If it's a cracker, it's most likely got soy. If it's processed at all, it's probably got soy. If it's one of Max's favorite things, it's got soy. Oy! Of course, if it means no more "itchies" (as Max says) then we'll deal with it. But I'm not going to lie: it's been rough!
