To finish up the celebration, we went to the park the following Saturday. The plan was to have a picnic lunch and then let the cousins play, but because of the weather and other conflicts it ended up being "picnic" lunch and cupcakes at our house and then play time in the drizzle at the park with a few of the cousins. The kids didn't mind the rain. And Max actually climbed a 2 rung ladder all by himself, so again, we're making progress!
After watching Max "blow" out his candles, Max's uncle said, "I now know why we're having cupcakes instead of a cake." What? Water is an effective way to put out fire.
