Max was Mario for Halloween this year. His first place to wear his costume was to his preschool Halloween party. We had the costume all worked out, except what to do about the mustache. My first solution was to use face paint.
It worked great; Max held really still and let me paint it on and he loved how it looked, but he pretty much refused to smile or talk because he didn't like how the paint felt when it moved and cracked. And removing the mustache was torture. It involved baby oil and the bath tub.
Despite his solemn look, he really did have fun at the party. The awesome party planner had tons of stuff for the kids to do, including making a witch's hat from a cookie and an ice cream cone, and all sorts of games, stories and activities. It was the start of a Happy Halloween!
